Explanation

A user John Adams is logged in, identified by his email john.adams@someTrust.org. He is acting a Role called Ambulance Service Provider 2, which embodies his responsibility as manager of an Ambulance Service for a particular region (a user may have any number of Roles at one time). He is currently carrying out the activity Report Service Statistics - one of the duties of such a Role is to complete a form (KA34) annually to describe how many calls were made during the year. RADRunner makes the activity available to John Adams automatically each year when the time comes to submit the statistics.

The screenshot shows John Adams doing the task Fill in KA34 Return - this is done online, using a custom web page generated dynamically via transformation of the XML data in the Role. On doing a save, the data submitted will be validated by RADRunner, and if satisfactory will automatically be sent to the appropriate recipient at the Department of Health. This person may themselves have an appropriate Role, or they may choose to receive the information by email, or even by fax.

Since RADRunner can be used over the Internet via any web browser, John Adams could use his Role(s) in this way via any web-enabled computing device, from a standard office (or home) PC to a hand-held PDA.
